PawSpot Community Guidelines

We're glad that you're part of PawSpot-together we're building a vibrant meeting place for pets and people. PawSpot is built on a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. Those ideals can be interpreted in a lot of ways in our diverse community. These guidelines are here to help you get a sense for the standards so that you can do your part to keep PawSpot strong and healthy.

DO:

  • Contribute. PawSpot is only as good as we all make it. Don't be shy. Build out your profile so we know who you are. Add events, parks, and bulletins. Start a discussion. Enhance what others have started by posting reviews, comments, replies, and photos. Share your knowledge and opinions.
  • Participate. The connection to the offline world is a unique aspect of our community. Make it stronger. Invite your offline pals and their pets to join. Set up play dates and exchange pet sitting with your friends.
  • Be safe. Use good judgment when someone you've never met approaches you for a play date, pet sitting, or other face-to-face meeting. Trust your instincts. Before meeting someone for the first time, check out our face-to-face meeting tips.
  • Keep it clean. If you see great content, let it be known. If you see abuse, report it. Flag that spam. And hold yourself to the same standards. Ask yourself if your contribution is likely to be helpful and increase the value we all get from PawSpot.
  • Be civil. Try to remember that your words will be there for you (and everyone) to read long after your momentary passion or anger is gone. Treat others the way you'd like to be treated-with respect.
  • Suggest improvements. We don't have all of the answers. If you have any feedback on how the site can be improved, contact us at support@pawspot.com. Let us know how we can make your life easier, and your pet's life happier. It's so important to us, we link to it at the bottom of every page.

DON'T

  • Engage in vicious/lewd name-calling.
  • Make personal threats-to people or animals.
  • Harass fellow members or start flame wars.
  • Use Racial/ethnic slurs and/or hateful speech.
  • Post personally identifiable information of others (email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, etc.)
  • Cheat in one of PawSpot's contests, by any means.
  • Post content that violates federal, state, or local law.
  • Post content for advertising or commercial purposes.
  • Create multiple accounts for the purpose of violating community guidelines.

A link at the bottom of every page allows PawSpotters to Report Abuse. We take these guidelines seriously--and we think you should, too. If you violate our terms of use or "cross over the line," we'll send you a warning email. We will let you know that you are in danger of having your account removed from PawSpot. In extreme cases of violation, we may immediately terminate your account and delete all of your contributions. If you have an account terminated you are prohibited from signing up for another account.
