This park is pretty big and pretty great, but a few things you should know before you visit:

-there are usually at least ten dogs there at all times.
-it is dirt park with no grass.
-it IS fenced in, contrary to the description above.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST:

-there's a common "bath" or small pool in the center of the park w/a faucet and hose for you to refill as you choose. if you don't want a muddy dog (remember, there's no grass!), don't bring him to this park because he will most likely be leaving needing a serious bath!

Myself and my three dogs visit Silverlake Dog Park on the daily and have never had a bad experience. If there was ever even a hint of aggression, the owner's have always intervened and removed their dog immediately. The people are friendly, and it has a nice neighbor-hoody feel, as opposed to some of the neighboring parks.

Im sorry to say that as much as we LOVE going to Silverlake Dog Park, it is a very popular destination. The majority of the people and dogs who go there are great and a pleasure to hang with but lately  I have come across some very aggressive dogs with very negligent owners,  the last 3 times we were there my dog has been attacked (nothing serious because I was right there)  but enough to scare me off for now. My dog is fixed and not an "alpha" by any means. I feel that they should enforce the no vicious dog policy there. I dont know how exactlly but something should be done..
