Union Square Dog Run
The Union Square Dog Run is a friendly and safe outdoor haven for dogs and their owners at 15th Street and Union Square West in downtown New York City. Union Square Park fortunately provides a layout that dedicates a tree-lined and sunny play space for dogs. The Dog Run was designed and is maintained by a volunteer-directed community organization - Friends of Union Square Dog Run.
Dogs and their owners from The Gramercy Park, Flatiron, Union Square, East Village and Greenwich Village neighborhoods congregate in the dog run every day of the year. Dog ownership automatically qualifies as membership in the organization. Regular users of the run are asked to make a voluntary contribution of labor and/or funds towards maintenance.
The Friends of Union Square Dog Run relies upon the donations and work contributed by volunteers for all of their work and improvements. Even the smallest gift of time or money makes a world of difference to the 1,000 dogs a week who pass through the double gates!
