Wrangler's Bio

Name -
I got my name from Mommy and Daddy's love of Jeeps. My Daddy owns a black Jeep Wrangler X, and Mommy just wishes she owned one. ;) We all love going out and going off-roading in the Jeep with our friends!

Out and About -
I am a very social puppy, both around humans and other animals. I love going anywhere and everwhere as long as I'm with Mommy and Daddy. I love nature and the outdoors - going off-roading in the Jeep, going hiking, camping, everything! I even have fun just taking a ride in the car, going for a walk around the neighborhood, or playing in the local park. One of my favorite things is going to the fire station with Mommy and Daddy for the weekly fire department meeting. Both Mommy and Daddy are volunteer firefighters/first responders.

Family -
Speaking of family, I have a big one that loves me very much! I live with Mommy and Daddy in a nice house with a big fenced backyard in a small rural town in central Arkansas. Mommy and Daddy got married on November 5th, 2006 - I got to go to the wedding! Mommy works part-time so she has plenty of time to take care of me and the rest of us pet-kids around here. Daddy is a soldier in the Army National Guard and is currently deployed - we all miss him very much right now and hope for his safe and speedy return. We're all really proud of Daddy. My Grandpa and Grandma (Daddy's side) live about 15 minutes away, and so do my Aunts and my dog-cousins. My Zeddi and Bubbi (grandparents on Mommy's side) live about 45 minutes away. And then of course Mommy and Daddy have a lot of close friends who are just like family - some of them I even call my Aunts and Uncles too.

Training -
I have started my obedience training - in November 2006 I graduated from Beginner Puppy Class. Next Mommy and Daddy plan on starting me in an Intermediate class, and hope that when I get older, we can do agility or maybe flyball together.

Food -
I'm on a raw diet - that means that I don't eat kibble, I eat real biologically appropriate raw meat, bones, and organs according to a prey-model. I officially went raw on September 21st, 2006 and I love it!

Pride -
I'm proud of my Mommy and Daddy for a lot of reasons - they do a lot of good things. In addition to being a soldier, Daddy is a volunteer firefighter and first responder. He's in law enforcement too and works as a detention officer when he's not on active duty with the military. Mommy has done a lot of volunteer work with animals all her life. She currently works at a stable taking care of horses, and she also volunteers there helping teach handicapped children how to ride. After hanging around the fire department with Daddy for so long, Mommy also joined and she's now a volunteer firefighter and first responder in training. One day I hope to earn my Canine Good Citizen award and do more volunteer work myself!

Stories About Wrangler

Arrival Story
Posted: Sunday 07 January 2007 05:53
I was adopted on August 28th, 2006

First off, you should know about my dog-mom, Little Bit. She was a stray, and one day she came across my dog-dad, Sam, and got pregnant. Well Sam's family decided to take Little Bit in while she had us puppies, and then afterwards they decided to keep her and get her spayed. They decided though that all us pups except my sister Snowy needed to find new homes. So my two human brothers went out to the road and held up a sign that read Free Puppies. Well lots of people stopped and adopted all my puppy brothers and puppy sisters until finally it was just me and Snowy left.

Now, at about this time, my soon to be Mommy and Daddy were driving down the same road. As Mommy tells me, she and Daddy saw one of my human brothers with the sign, and then Daddy started to slow down and Mommy asked him what he was doing! They both had wanted a dog but couldn't make up their minds, so they argued about it apparently just long enough to make it to the end of the road before they turned around to "just look".

Well as soon as I saw them come into the yard, I came dashing off the porch and bounded up to them, then rolled over so they could rub my tummy. They didn't even know that I was the last puppy and that Snowy was staying - they wanted me! So it all worked out and I got to go home with my new Mommy and Daddy!
